In short

Agentforce is Salesforce's AI agent layer and you pay for it with Flex Credits. Core includes 500,000 a year per org, Advanced 1,000,000 and Max about 2.75 million. They expire at the end of each contract year and overages are billed separately. According to Salesforce's pricing page, each Agentforce action uses 20 Flex Credits (30 for voice) and 100,000 credits cost €500: about €0.10 per action. Core's pool covers roughly 25,000 actions a year.

What a Flex Credit is

It is the unit Salesforce uses to measure Agentforce consumption. Every time an agent does something, like answering a customer, summarizing an account or updating a record, it spends credits.

How many each edition includes

EditionFlex Credits per year, per orgApproximate actions
Core500,000about 25,000
Advanced1,000,000about 50,000
Maxabout 2.75 millionabout 137,500

Actions estimated at about 20 credits per standard action, according to Salesforce's Agentforce pricing page. Actual consumption depends on each action.

An example with numbers

A support team handles 2,000 enquiries a month with an agent that performs 3 actions per enquiry. That's 6,000 actions and 120,000 Flex Credits a month, 1.44 million a year. Core includes 500,000: the remaining 940,000 credits are billed at €500 per 100,000, which is €4,700 a year on top of licences. On Advanced (1 million included) the excess drops to 440,000 credits, €2,200. Before deciding, ask Salesforce how many actions each flow you want to switch on performs.

Three rules worth knowing

  • They are per org, not per user. The whole team shares the same pool.
  • They expire. Whatever you do not spend in the contract year is lost and does not carry over to another org.
  • Overages are billed separately. Ask for the price before switching on high-volume agents.

When it is worth it

When there is a lot of repetitive volume: customer service with many similar requests, case classification, answers to frequently asked questions. That is where an agent saves real hours.

When it is not

When your sales team uses Salesforce to log opportunities and activities and nobody has asked for agents. In that case you pay the Core price increase mostly for credits that expire.

Questions for your Salesforce rep

  1. How many credits does each type of action we plan to use consume?
  2. What do overages cost and how are we notified?
  3. Where can we see consumption in real time?
  4. Can we renew without Agentforce, and at what price?

The alternative

In your own CRM, like the ones 2Q Technologies builds, AI runs on the provider you choose (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or another) and you pay its usage directly, with no intermediate credits. The CRM has an open API and is MCP-compatible, so you can connect ChatGPT, Claude or your own agents without paying per agent or per conversation.
